Here I am

I’m Stephanie,

Hello, thanks for visiting.

 

I’m a theatre director and devising artist, my work is formally adventurous, and research-led, foregrounding community, participation and collective experience. 

​

I’m known for a collaborative and nurturing rehearsal room (I was a teacher for 15 years, and I can’t shake it) and there will always be biscuits. 

​

I work across live and hybrid performance, see my work with Hot Cousin.

 

I enjoy collaborating closely with writers and performers to make work that is politically curious, participatory and socially connective.

I live with a chronic health condition which impacts the way I view and make work and I like finding ways to evoke big ideas that foster connection, empathy and understanding.

​

I've worked across different genres and forms. I like interdisciplinary approaches. I've made films, written texts, painted canvases, been part of installations, moved my body, written manifestos, and directed musicals,.

​

One day I'd like to direct  (INSERT ALMOST ANYTHING).
