Stephanie Fuller

I am an interdisciplinary artist working across live art, performance and digital work. my work is formally adventurous, and research-led, foregrounding community, participation and collective experience.

My practice brings together projection, archival images, sound, text and bodies. Sometimes it's gloriously silly, sometimes it's devastating and often it's both. Text is part of the scenography, sitting alongside image and action with equal weight. In past work I have remained completely silent, barked like dogs, sung like whales and delivered intense monologues. The audience always knows I can see them.

I’m known for a collaborative and nurturing rehearsal room (I was a teacher for 15 years, and I can’t shake it) and there will always be biscuits.

I work across live and hybrid performance, see my work with Hot Cousin.

I enjoy collaborating closely with writers and performers to make work that is politically curious, participatory and socially connective.

I live with a chronic health condition which impacts the way I view and make work and I like finding ways to evoke big ideas that foster connection, empathy and understanding.

I've worked across different genres and forms. I like interdisciplinary approaches. I've made films, written texts, painted canvases, been part of installations, moved my body, written manifestos, and directed musicals,.
